The Comeback...

Image
The Atlanta Braves just won the World Series!   The Braves, a team who won fewer regular season games than any other team in the 2021 playoffs.   A team plagued with injuries to many of their best players.   A team that had more losses than wins at the end of July, finished the regular season with an 88-73 record.  In fact at the end of July the Braves had a 10% chance of making the playoffs and less than a 1% chance of winning the World Series.   The Atlanta Braves were not the best team in MLB from April to September, but they didn't let that stop them.  They showed up every day and gave 100%.  They made corrections, and trades, and kept their eye on the prize.   On November 2, 2021 they did it!  They won the World Series for the first time since 1995!     What a great lesson in life.  In the face of  seemingly unsurmountable odds:  Always Try!  Play to Win!  Never, Ever Give Up! Thank you Atlanta Braves for the reminder and the life lesson.

Easy Homemade Apple Sauce

I love fall in Roswell, Georgia!  The days are warm, the nights are cool and there is so much to see a do.  Pumpkin patches, apple picking, corn mazes and hay rides.  These were all things on my daughters Fall Bucket List.  Lexi's Bucket List also included making apple sauce.  I love making apple sauce with fresh picked apples from Ellijay, but with 2 kids--one a toddler, the thought of picking apples…. Enter the Farmers Market!  Fresh apples AND I can make smaller batches, which means no canning! It also means my daughter who LOVES to cook (she has her own you tube channel!!!) gets to cook every week!  Today I’m going to share our 2021 recipe for Apple Sauce.  It’s easy.  It’s fast.  It has no added sweeteners.  And we use the instant pot!  My old recipe is buried somewhere in a box in the storage unit and it tasted like apple pie filling!  It contained an array of spices and apples dumped in a crock pot to cook for several hours…. Well if you’ve ever cooked with a 5 year old, fas

A New Season...

Are you familiar with Hygee?  Am I the only one who has been living under a rock and totally missed this concept?  Recently DoTerra introduced their new products for 2021.  I was lucky enough to be able to purchase one of the kits containing all of the new products...  One of the items in there was an oil blend called Hygee—one that my entire family loves!  This word was completely new to me, so I did what most people do these days and searched Google.  And I was amazed.  Hygee is a Danish term or concept that cannot be translated into a single English word.  Instead it’s a word that encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and wellbeing through enjoying the simple things in love.   As we enter into a new season, this word resonated with me.  It sparked some joy and curiosity.  This weekend saw the first cool crisp nights, the first chili of the season, and my youngest went pull-up free, and my oldest spent the weekend cooking.  It’s also my Birthday week, celebrating as I ente

Tech Neck

Tech neck is a new name for a condition that’s been around for years—neck pain that is caused by repetitive strain and injury to the muscles and other structures in the cervical spine.   Do you experience neck pain?   Headaches?   Jaw Pain? Pain between your shoulder blades?   Numbness and tingling in your arms or hands?   Reduced mobility of the neck, upper back and shoulders?    Increased pain when tipping your head forward?    Generalized pain in the lower neck, shoulders and upper back?    Sharp, stabbing pain in a one localized spot?   Generalized pain in the lower neck, shoulders and upper back?      If you answered yes to any of these you could be suffering from Tech Neck. Constantly looking at our technology—such as computers, laptops, cell phones—can result in a repetitive stress/strain injury to the cervical spine and it’s supporting structures.   This condition is     commonly called tech neck or text neck.   These technologies that are supposed to make our lives e
